Rome, Italy’s capital, now a modern cosmopolitan filled with millennia of world famous and coveted art, stunning architecture, and rich culture. Once home to one of the most powerful empires, the city is speckled with ancient ruins such as the Roman Forum and the Colosseum which were the pride of the former Roman Empire. The Vatican City, which is the Roman Catholic Church headquarters, houses the sprawling St. Peter’s Basilica and labyrinth-like Vatican Museums. And surrounded by meters of thick wall lay masterpieces such as Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel frescoes. Truly a sight to behold and should be visited at least once in a lifetime.
