Vatican City, a city-state surrounded by Rome, Italy, home to the Roman Catholic Church, is the smallest recognized state in the world. It is the place where the pope calls home with many of the major art pieces, which art students do case studies on.
The Vatican Museums is a must visit for art enthusiasts as it houses numerous famous ancient Roman sculptures such as the Laocoön and Renaissance frescoes within the Raphael Rooms. The Sistine Chapel also resides here, one of the most famous works of Michelangelo. But unfortunately we weren’t allowed to take any photos of it.

Chairs all lined up in rows for the next day’s Papal audience.
I can never get tired of looking at the ceilings in Rome.
Dizzying stairway, beautiful architecture.
