Brasov Escapade (Romania)

The city of Brasov is located in the Transylvania region of Romania and is protected by the Carpathian Mountains. Known for its medieval Saxon bastions and walls, in the center of the city lies the imposing Gothic-style Black Church. The old town filled with cobble stoned streets are surrounded by brightly coloured baroque buildings. The streets are lines with busy cafes and pastry shops that sell the most mouth-watering puffs, pizzas, bread, pies and cakes.

And everywhere you walk in Brasov you will see the “Crown” emblazoned on buildings, walls, street signs and even pots! So keep an eye out for them.

History says that the architect of the church pushed a young boy over the top of the church during its construction because the boy happened to sneak a peak at the architectural drawings of the church. And also, the boy was a sacrifice to the land so that the church will ‘stand’ eternally.
