Sun, sand, sea & surf!

Diving is another passion of mine and exploring the ocean’s wonders gives me an adrenaline rush I can’t describe. The beauty seen just 100 feet below sea level, while that’s keeping me from drowning is a metal tank filled with O2 being sucked through a rubber tube, is both exhilarating and mesmerizing! I wonder what other magical creatures can be seen at a deeper level than that!

Well, these photos were taken on my diving trips with my small trusted underwater compact which is now decommissioned as I pushed it 20 meters deeper than I should’ve.

Snippets of my trip to the sandy white beaches and crystal clear waters of the Maldivian islands. Highlights were getting to spot a school of wild dolphins in the open waters just off the shores of our hotel. We went diving as well and I managed to finally permanently fritz my underwater camera half way through leaving us camera-less. So all I had was a disposable film camera and we took it out to sea. We hired a private boat out to an atoll but when we arrived, though the scene was beautiful, our newly purchased disposable film camera fritzed even before we used it. So I was left without any photos of our trip out there. I had to do it old school, before the invention of cameras, so I took a mental snapshot. Maybe I should sketch it out… hmmm…

Snippets of my dive trips around Malaysia. My fave underwater creatures are the juvenile box fish, the scary trigger fish that you do not want to ever encounter first hand, pipe fishes, clown fishes are always fun to annoy because they always look so angry, and of course, not forgetting… turtles!
