I enjoy being in tight spaces and going underground. Sounds like being in a coffin! Well, no, not that tight a space. I digress. Back on point, I would like to draw your attention to this relatively new attraction in Brno known as the Labyrinth below Zelny Trh. It was founded/opened recently in 2011 as it was only in the last few years that the locals realised that their cellars didn’t stop at that final wall at the far end, it extended further into a large maze of underground tunnels, corridors and rooms. It is open to tourists seeking to have a look of what life was like back in the 13th century when the tunnels and cellars were supposedly used. They can look forward to poking around the various nooks and crannies of the medieval cellars. There are guided tours through the labyrinth, which are available every 60 minutes to groups of five and above, with a maximum limit of 25 people. The entrance to the labyrinth can be found in the building at Zelný trh 21.
And here we go…

It was a short but relatively interesting tour. Something to do while you’re in Brno if you are into history and like being underground inhaling the stale air.
