Pravčická Brána (Czech)

Climbing up a mountain or hill of sorts is a must when in Europe. We decided to venture to Pravčická brána, a simple hike up to a narrow rock formation located in the Bohemian Switzerland in the Czech Republic. It is the largest natural sandstone arch in Europe, and one of the most striking natural monuments in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. A beautiful sight to behold.

At the entrance to the start of the hike up to the archway.

And below are photos of the gorgeous autumn covered landscape we passed along the way.

And after a slow hike up, due to me stopping every other meter and immensely delaying our progress, we arrive to this breathtaking view.

Sokolí hnízdo, which sits next to the arch

But that’s not all that we are rewarded to after the hike. We proceeded further up, past the arch and Sokolí hnízdo to walk to the top of the mountain where there was a little park of sorts.

On the way down, we went to have a closer look at the arch. It is huge!

After a long day in the mountains, we headed down to town to walk around, grab a bite and to catch the late train out.
